Steel SOURCING

Steel production involves massive physical impacts and extreme thermal stress. Norvic International manufactures heavy-duty, high-impact abrasion belts and ultra-high heat EPDM belts designed for sinter plants, coke ovens, and blast furnace feeding.

Verified Sizing Standards

Crucial Material Handling Bottlenecks

Every facility operating in Steel encounters specific wear constraints. Inadequate belt cover compounding results in blistering under high heat, accelerated slicing from sharp ores, or explosive safety hazards from combustible coal dust.

01

Critical Wear Stress

Extremely hot sintering and blast furnace feed materials (peak up to 300°C+)

02

Critical Wear Stress

Sharp, heavy metal scrap and slag cutting and puncturing conveyor covers

03

Critical Wear Stress

Continuous vibration and dynamic tension fluctuations

04

Critical Wear Stress

Severe vertical lifts loading blast furnaces in tight footprints

Operational Vulcanizing Guidelines

For high-capacity materials movement, we strongly recommend implementing step-spliced hot vulcanized joints to prevent splice tear-out. Neoprene cover-grade models must use matched fire-retardant splicing cement solutions (e.g., Norvic FR splice glue) to preserve the flame resistant integrity across the entire length of the conveyor loop.

Engineering Recommendations

Based on standard materials handling analysis for Steel, our technical coordinators recommend prioritizing:

  • Multi-ply Polyester-Nylon (EP) Carcass for low-stretch
  • Cover Compounds matching certified DIN standard tolerances
  • Reinforced Seaworthy wooden drums for secure transit
